One of the first examples of collaboration between Boards in the region was the choice of the same package of tools to access data.  All eight boards in the region provide teachers with Collection Plus and principals with Achievement Plus.  A third tool, Connected Learning Network is in the process of being offered to principals.

 For Teachers: Collection Plus

This tool provides teachers with the ability enter and analyze assessment data for their class.  Once assessment data such as DRA and CASI are entered, teachers have the ability to analyze their class data in a variety of report formats.  Data can be analyzed in groups such as by gender or individually to view student progress over time.

 For Principals: Achievement Plus

Achievement Plus allows administrators at the school and board levels the ability to quickly access Report Card and EQAO data to support decision making processes.  Report Card data is available by Subject and Strand, at the board, school, grade and class levels.  Historical data allows for time analysis reports to review trends.

 Connected Learning Networks

The Connected Learning Networks provides principals with access to six StatsCan indicators:
  1. Household Income,
  2. Single Parent Families,
  3. Without High School Diploma,
  4. With Post Secondary Education,
  5. Receiving Government Transfers, and
  6. Aboriginal Decent.

The tool supports a school's ability to understand the demographic composition of their community. The data assists principals with planning and decision making that is more specific to their demographic context.  The long term goal of this project will be to provide the opportunity for schools across the region to partner themselves with like schools based on this demographic data to share strategies they have implemented within their schools.  Two boards within the region are currently piloting this project.
